One of the most popular romantic comedies of the last century, Same Time, Next Year ran four years on Broadway, winning multiple Tony Awards. The plot follows a love affair between two people, Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly played out by the lovers. Sponsored by Mary McVay.

1951: New cars cost $1,500, ‘I Love Lucy’ debuted, and George & Doris met for the first time.

1961: Cocktail parties filled suburban living rooms, transistor radios played the latest hits, and George & Doris discovered how much life can change in five years.

1971: Nixon was in the White House, The Beatles broke it off. The world was changing fast – from moon landings to protest songs – but George & Doris still kept their annual date. Some things never change.
