Players Circle Theater to feature rotating cast in ‘Love Letters’
Players Circle Theater will present A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer Prize-finalist play “Love Letters” in Fort Myers from June 11–14, 2026, with a unique rotating cast of Southwest Florida personalities.
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Players Circle Theater in Fort Myers will host a special five-performance event of A.R. Gurney’s play “Love Letters” from June 11–14, 2026, featuring a rotating cast of Gulf Coast performers and media personalities.
Directed by Betty Nordstrom and Kelly Jo Madoian, “Love Letters” is a Pulitzer Prize-finalist play that follows the lifelong relationship of Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III through decades of correspondence.
The play is known for its simple staging, emotional depth, and exploration of themes such as love, nostalgia, and missed opportunities.
“Every cast brings its own chemistry, personality, and perspective to these characters,” said Associate Artistic Director Ted Wioncek III. “Audiences can attend multiple performances and experience a completely different emotional journey each time.”
The production will feature a different cast of distinguished local figures from the worlds of media, business, arts, and community leadership at each performance, offering audiences a unique theatrical experience. These performers include Gulf Coast News reporters Dave Elias and Jason Drew.
Performances will take place June 11–14, with two shows scheduled on Saturday. Tickets start at $35.
