Players Circle Theater blends love, heartbreak and pasta in ‘I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti’
Players Circle Theater’s ‘I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti,’ running April 14–May 3, offers a unique mix of humor, romance, and Italian cuisine for an unforgettable experience.
FORT MYERS, Fla. — Players Circle Theater invites audiences to enjoy a heartfelt and theatrical experience with “I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti.”
The show is running April 14 through May 3, combining storytelling, humor, and Italian cuisine for a memorable night out.
Adapted by Jacques Lamarre from Giulia Melucci’s bestselling memoir, the production takes place in Giulia’s kitchen, where she cooks, serves, and shares her romantic misadventures, recounting her journey to true love through recipes.
Eight audience members per performance can upgrade their tickets for an intimate onstage dining experience, enjoying antipasto, salad, scratch-made pasta with Bolognese sauce, and wine as the story unfolds.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this play,” said Players Circle Artistic Director Robert Cacioppo, who also directs the production. “It’s funny, it’s honest, it’s delicious—a foodie’s dream version of ‘Sex and the City.’”
Amanda Ladd stars as Giulia, bringing warmth, wit, and charm to the solo performance. Ladd, a New York City–based actor and director, has previously appeared in “Godspell” and “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” at Players Circle Theater.
