Behind the scenes at Player Circle Theater’s new show: ‘Rumors’

The Players Circle Theater in Lee County is gearing up for an exciting new show, “Rumors.”

Located on McGregor Boulevard just south of College Parkway, the theater promises a performance filled with chaos, mysteries and misunderstandings.

Bianca Smith from WINK News had the opportunity to sit down with the actors to discuss their characters and the importance of supporting local theaters.

According to the theater’s website, the play focuses on the chaos surrounding a deputy mayor’s self-inflicted gunshot wound and his wife’s disappearance. It also focuses on four couples at an anniversary party, where secrets unravel and confusion reigns. “Misunderstandings multiply in this fast-paced farce filled with cover-ups, rumors, and non-stop comedic twists.”

Robert Cacioppo, the artistic director, shared insights into directing a play, highlighting the notes he gives to actors and his unique approach to the craft.

The conversation also touched on the pacing of the show, offering a brief preview of what audiences can expect.
