Players Circle Theater, a dynamic nonprofit regional theater is seeking skilled and passionate individuals to join our production team. We are currently hiring for the following roles:

• Production Manager
• Designers (Scenic, Lighting, Sound)
• Technicians (Carpentry, Electrics, Run Crew, Board Operator)

Depending on applicant experience and interest, this could be a combined position or a series of freelance/project-based contracts.

As a vital member of our artistic and production team, you’ll play a key role in realizing our season’s productions from concept to performance. Whether your strength lies in managing logistics, crafting compelling designs, building and running shows, or a bit of everything — we want to hear from you.

We are especially interested in candidates who are flexible, collaborative, and excited to work in a fast-paced nonprofit environment where resourcefulness and creativity are valued just as much as technical skill.

Production Manager

• Oversees scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of all production departments.
• Serve as liaison between artistic staff and production teams.
• Hire and supervise designers and technicians.
• Ensure safety and efficiency of all backstage operations.

Designers

• Collaborate with directors to develop creative concepts.
• Produce designs that align with budgets and production timelines.
• Draft renderings and technical drawings.
• Attend and lead design and production meetings.

Technicians

• Assist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of scenic, lighting, sound, or costume elements.
• Run performances as deck crew, board ops, or wardrobe staff.
• Participate in load-ins, strikes, and changeovers.
• Maintain equipment and safe workspaces.

• Professional or academic experience in theater production, design, or technical theater.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for theater and a community-driven mission.
• Flexibility to adapt to a variety of roles.

Preferred but not required:

• CAD/Vectorworks/QLab/ETC experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of equity/non-equity production environments.
• Familiarity or expertise in projection design, mapping, etc.

• This position is flexible: We welcome candidates seeking full-time employment, part-time employment, seasonal contracts, or project-based freelance work.
• Compensation will be commensurate with experience and role(s) and may include a combination of salary and/or stipend.
• Some housing may be available for out-of-town hires.
